ICIBM 2013 Travel Award

The ICIBM 2013 Travel Award decisions have been made and announcements have been forwarded to those that applied. Many thanks to all of those that applied for the ICIBM 2013 Travel Award. A big congratulations to this year’s recipients!

Travel awards for students and postdocs are being made available for ICIBM 2013 through a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. All students (both graduate and undergraduate) and postdocs who are submitting a paper and/or abstract on which they are the first author are highly encouraged to apply for this travel award. Applications for the ICIBM 2013 Travel Award must be received by June 17, 2013 to be considered. There will be up to 20 of these travel awards available, made possible through the awarded NSF grant. Please see the details below regarding the specific criteria and how to apply.

Information

The goal of the ICIBM 2013 Travel Award is to encourage the participation of young scientists in training, including both graduate/undergraduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

To be considered for an award the candidate must:

  • Submit a paper/abstract for the conference.
  • Be the first author on the paper/abstract.
  • Must be a student or postdoctoral fellow.
  • Complete and submit the award application form by the deadline.

  • The award application form can be downloaded from here. Please send the completed form to Rebecca Hiller Posey (R.HillerPosey@vanderbilt.edu) by June 17, 2013.

Note: If you have already submitted a paper, and it has been accepted, please fill in the “Abstract ID” and “Abstract Title” areas of the application with your paper information in lieu of abstract information.

    Review Criteria

All applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on the submitted paper/abstract by the following criteria: (1) relevance to the topics of the conference, (2) significance of the work, (3) clarity of the presentation, and (4) soundness of the data. Winners will be notified via email prior to the meeting and publicly announced during the closing ceremony.
